Our New Home

Well we are all moved in and settled in Regina! I never would have thought I would live here but here we are! Rope started school last week so that has been an adjustment for Decker and I not having him around all day everyday! I've been keeping myself busy unpacking and doing projects but give me another week and we'll see how I'm doing then. Decker has been loving his bed and his own room and has been sleeping great the last couple days, I'm hoping this isn't just a faze and that these habits are here to stay. He's never been much of a day time napper so these 1.5-2 hour naps have been heavenly!

Here's a little peek into our house and what I've been up to lately :)
love how this dresser turned out for Deckers room

Thanks Amy for another poster sharpie print!! All we need now is a headboard
but that might be a project for next summer...

another project- our anniversary

I bought that dresser 4 years ago and finally picked a colour to paint it.

Rope and I made these shelves while we were in Alberta this summer.
So easy and I'm in love with them- I need more walls so I can put more up!

Trying to keep a house plant alive.. wish me luck!!
and a picture of Decker because I know that's
really what everyone wants to see ;)

2015

New year new plans! In the past I haven't been a huge resolution setter {or keeper} so I'm trying something new this year!
Instead of making a list of things I'm going to do Rope and I decided to pick a theme for our year. Our theme is more of a general goal for how we want our year to go and how we are going to become better in the meantime.
The theme for 2015 comes from one of my favorite hymns, "More Holiness Give Me", it's the last two lines of the first verse.
More faith in my Saviour, more sense of His care, more joy in His service, more purpose in prayer.

This year we are going to focus on the important stuff- becoming more kind and thoughtful, more prayerful, more aware of our blessings and most importantly more Christ-like.

Happy 2015!!

Home sweet home... again

We moved again! This marks our fifth house in our almost 3 years of marriage... Yep were crazy like that!
There are a lot of great things {and some not so great things} about our new place!
We have tons of channels we didn't have before and a PVR! {this is probably good and bad :P}
We get to sleep in a king size mattress- it's like I have a bed to myself!
One of the levels has AC... I'm counting that as a plus even though we will only be living here for the winter.
There is a real fireplace, I'm actually looking forward to colder weather!
There is a garborator! I love those things!
The house is 100 years old so there is so much character- like gorgeous crown moulding!
There are a ton of stairs so even when I'm not working out I'm working out.. right??... haha
Rope's favorite parts are:
The "Man Cave" which is actually just the attic level that has been turned into the tv room, and it actually is pretty awesome!
And the fact that he can walk to school in 10 minutes! Which has also been great since the buses have been on strike since we moved here!

The not so great things..
The basement is super creepy! You don't even know how creepy- there is a weird little room and a coal shute. And the laundry is down there so I'm going to have to get brave one of these days!
The mattress is hard as a rock... I think I am actually bruised from it..
The dishwasher doesn't work :(

Buuuuuut mostly the house is great and we are loving it!
And everyone is invited to come visit because it's big and we actually have a spare bedroom with a bed! But Hurry we are only here until April! :P

a great week

Lately I have been trying to fill my time with better activities.
Since I'm working full time there is nothing I hate more then sitting on Sunday night thinking back on the past week and realizing I really did nothing..
I aboslutely love our IPad that we got for Christmas but unfortunatly I feel that is where I lose most of my time..
BUT...
All this has started to change!
Instead of playing a pointless game I listened to conference talks on my new favorite Mormon channel app
Instead of aimlessly browsing kijiji for a new place to live I got a few new things to beautify the place we are living in now.
Instead of scrolling through Pinterest wishing I had a different wardrobe I made another batch of freezer meals
And instead of creeping people on Facebook I went out with my husband
What a great week I've had!

My new favorite

Is there anything better then a meal plan for the next two months and a freezer full of crockpot meals...

Don't think so!
I think I'm finally getting used to the fact that supper happens everyday.. and I'm not COMPLETLY dreading it...
Shhh don't tell Rope though :)
It's kind of exciting to make something and since I like to try new dishes it really is a surprise every time... Thank goodness for Pinterest and the unlimited supply of recipes on there!
Now if only I could learn to love doing the dishes...

change

We have officially been in Saskatoon for 3 weeks! I feel like the time has flown by but a lot has changed! We officially have Saskatchewan drivers licenses, there are no boxes left in our house and I feel like I can get to most places {superstore, walmart, the mall and work} without needing a GPS.
We have really enjoyed living here so far and are excited to get more settled in the city and in our ward.

I am learning more everyday that change can be a good thing!

We have LOVED having Brock and Amy and Family as well as
Storm and Sloane and of course Oshi too! It's so nice to have family around!

And since i just figured out how to see the pictures from my iphone on ropes confusing mac.. here are a few of what we've been up to since we arrived :)

enjoying the nice weather while going on a bike ride to explore campus. The ride
turned out to be a little longer then i anticipated so there wasn't much exploring..
The U of S home opener. There were fireworks and a jet that flew over us.
They are pretty intense about there football here

A little face juggler.. good thing we have our own faces..

Trey having some uncle Rote time :)
